Conclusion

In conclusion, our research has shown that the hetero-patriarchal model is no longer sustainable in the Western world, neither worldwide, and could lead to a collapse of society. Gender inequality can no longer be a norm and governments, as well as individuals, have to raise awareness and change to make gender equality possible. Based on traditional gender roles, both genders suffer from this social system and sometimes to an extreme extent which can become dangerous. Even though governments already work a lot for gender equality, our survey pointed out that the younger generation acknowledges that many things still have to be done to achieve this ideal society. By working hand in hand we could reach a more egalitarian social model.
